For the occasion, a special postal cancellation dedicated to the Drago di Vaia is foreseen
SAN MARINO, 11 July 2024 – Sunday 21 July marks the return of the International Prize of Asiago for Philatelic Art. The event, initiated by the municipal administration, the Circolo Filatelico e Numismatico Sette Comuni and the Accademia Olimpica di Vicenza, is now in its 54th year. As it has been for many years now, the Philatelic and Numismatic Division of the San Marino Postal Service will also be attending the event, with its own stand and a special cancellation for the occasion. The cancellation for 2024 will be dedicated to the famous Drago di Vaia, built from branches collected after a storm in 2018, which was vandalised last year and reconstructed a few months ago. The design is the work of Marco Martalar, the same artist who created the Dragon.
The International Prize of Asiago for Philatelic Art will be held in the Sala dei Quadri of the Asiago Town Hall at 11 a.m. and has free admission.
Poste San Marino will be awaiting you at its stand on Saturday 20 July from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Sala della Reggenza, Via Stazione 1, and on Sunday 21 at the Sala dei Quadri of the Asiago Town Hall from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
