SAN MARINO, 2 May 2024 – The Philatelic and Numismatic Division of the San Marino Post Office has provided a postal cancellation dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Council of Europe established on 5 May 1949 by the 10 founding countries that signed the Treaty of London. The Republic of San Marino started to participate in the proceedings of the international organisation as Observer State in 1982. As of 1988, San Marino is the 23rd Member State of the Council of Europe and has chaired the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe twice (10 May – 6 November 1990 and 15 November 2006 – 11 May 2007). The cancellation depicts the logo of the celebrations, i.e. the number 75 with 4 stars and the dates 1949-2024.
