The stamp in sheets of 4 celebrates the Vespa Club d’Italia
SAN MARINO – San Marino and Italy celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Vespa Club d’Italia. The theme was already included in the Italian philatelic programme and the Philatelic and Numismatic Division of the San Marino Post Office seized the opportunity to make it the theme of the 2024 joint issue next 20 April.
The Vespa Club d’Italia promotes all forms of Vespa sporting, tourist, cultural and recreational activities and the preservation of the heritage of the legendary Piaggio Vespa!
The stamp created by the Philatelic and Numismatic Division of the San Marino Post Office to celebrate the Vespa Club Italia and the Vespa Piaggio has a value of 1.25 euro and reproduces an illustration by the sketch artist Paola Momentè depicting on the left a boy wearing a red helmet riding a red Vespa, who is riding along a white road next to a girl wearing a yellow helmet riding a yellow Vespa, against a blue background. The plate of the red Vespa bears the number 20.04 and that of the yellow Vespa the number 2024, to remind us of the issue date of the postal series.
The band on the left of the sheet of the euro 1.25 value shows an enlargement of the same illustration of the stamp with the inscription “VESPA CLUB D’ITALIA – Emissione congiunta San Marino – Italia”.
