Director General Gian Luca Amici took part in the initiative organized to discuss philately with prisoners
Ten years of postal exhibits, ten years of stamps, meetings, exchanges, reflections and research. The “Philately in prisons” group, which brings together some inmates of the Milan Opera Prison House, wanted to celebrate its 10 years of activity, on March 8, with an in-depth historical postal study in which Poste San Marino SpA also took part for the first time, with a speech by General Manager Gian Luca Amici.
The meeting aimed at interlacing the history of some countries with their philately, thanks to the presentations of the respective postal authorities. Director General Amici presented the history of San Marino philately, from the legendary single sheet of the Red Lira to the most recent issues. For the occasion, the Republic of San Marino also created a special cancellation with a butterfly carrying a stamped envelope outside the bars.
