San Marino and Italy celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Vespa Club Italia, the largest Italian association promoting all Vespa activities in its various manifestations: sportive, touristic, cultural, and recreational.
When one speaks about Vespa, it refers to an extraordinary worldwide ambassador of the Italian talent to create beauty. An elegant entity that has united generations from the post-war period to the present day thanks to its skill to present itself and evolve in step with the times.
This series issued by the Philatelic and Numismatic Division of the San Marino Post Office was created by the designer Paola Momentè, who explains her work as follows: “Vespa is not only about riding, it is also about riding together. All the individual passion for two-wheelers turns into a collective experience at the Vespa Club, now as much as 75 years ago”.
The stamp illustrates, on the left, a young man wearing a red helmet riding a red Vespa on a white road next to a young woman wearing a yellow helmet riding a yellow Vespa, against a light blue background. The plate of the red Vespa bears the number 20.04 and the plate of the yellow Vespa the number 2024, to highlight the issue date of the postal series.
The strip on the left of the sheet of the € 1.25 value shows an enlargement of the same illustration as the stamp with the inscription “VESPA CLUB D’ITALIA – Emissione congiunta San Marino – Italia”.
