Coincard "180th ann. of the Gendarmerie Corps"

The Gendarmerie is a police corps with military status, founded in 1842 to fulfil the need for security and public order in San Marino during a period of uprisings, rebellions and banditry. For 180 years, the Gendarmerie Corps has expressed a concrete and growing commitment in the fight against crime, to protect Democratic Institutions, to guarantee fundamental freedoms, to safeguard the common good and to protect the territory of the Republic of San Marino.
