In 1968 the Township Council of San Marino officially announced an important twinning between San Marino and Rab (Arbe), the Croatia island that gave birth to the founder of San Marino, in order to promote closer human, social and civil relations between the two cities. The series shows two stunning views, one with Mount Titano and the three Towers and the other with the island of Rab and the monumental Romanesque bell tower of the cathedral, which are ideally linked by the central figure of Saint Marino, disguised as a stonemason. The series is enriched by ornamental details of fragments of liturgical furniture, which are kept in the churches of the Croatian island.
